Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
It is difficult with the busyness of life, but there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t realize what a gift my children are. I confess though, it is tough business to raise them.
When I have Rhys and Layla to myself for a couple of days, I truly appreciate what I miss when I am away – fits and all.
At times, I fail at guiding them and preparing them for later days. I have found many times just how selfish I can be with time; when all I can think upon are the cares of work, the world, wasting time and how I can secure their future security.
There is so much to worry about. Though, I know that I shouldn’t.
What I find so awesome about these verses is that God knows what we will need when we grow old in this physical world. We need our children parents! The more the better because there’s no telling how much care we will need when we grow old.
I just pray my kids will always love me enough to take care of me when I am old and crotchety.
