If you know me you know I am a big fan of Phil Keaggy. A friend named Scott hooked me with an instructional video. It was not really instructional. It was inspirational.
I watched Phil pick at his guitar gracefully and with ease. “Here, watch this. This is sort of like a D-minor (rips this lightning fast riff). Try it.” Whatever man.
So, I went home that night and played for 3 hours, imitating (with little success) his slaps and harmonic taps. It was crazy. Ever since, I have been in awe and wonder at his gifting. He is so influential and makes the most of his time.
He truly lives up to Psalm 33:3. “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”
